Questions And Answers

In this broadcast of the P. Allen Smith Show I'll answer some listener questions, help with squirrels, talk about painting fireplaces, and make a non-dairy raspberry mint chocolate silk smoothie.

Get your blender out so that you can prepare this episode's recipe for a non-dairy smoothie while you listen. I'm answering common gardening questions and sharing tips for increasing your curb appeal in just a weekend. Download the show here or from the iTunes podcast, and don't forget to ask questions that could be answered next week.

Six Months on the Air!

I love a chance to celebrate, so now that we've hit our Six Month Anniversary of being on the airwaves, I'm sharing the Best of P. Allen Smith Radio.

In this one hour whirlwind, I'll visit with Natchez Chef Regina Charboneau, the biscuit queen. I'll also speak with North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Hayes about the downtown Argenta District and Arkansas Foodie Mary Twedt, then head into the great outdoors with Pulaski Country Judge Buddy Villines about his work at the Two Rivers Park and we’ll also look at the Pulaski County Garden Center. Finally, I'll highlight the upcoming Big Dam Bridge 100, an Arkansas cycling tradition that's coming up at the end of September. It's been a great six months!

Eating Locally

Are you interested in restaurants that serve food prepared with locally grown ingredients? Yes? Well then you will want to listen to my conversation with Jack Sundell owner of The Root Café in my hometown.

Southside Main Street in Little Rock (SoMa) has taken on a new role in the last three years with a boom in local businesses. The Root Café is at the heart of the redevelopment. By sourcing local & organic food, reaching out to the community, and serving up delicious breakfasts and lunches, the Root has garnered several "Best Of" awards and a bit of a cult following. Join me as I speak with Jack Sundell, owner & operator of the café, about its origins, menu, nostalgia, communal involvement and those delicious donut muffins.
